Glambassador and Breast Cancer Fighter Sasaprasa Takes A Hike with Runyon Canyon Apaprel<\/p><\/div>\n

We recently hiked with breast cancer fighter Sagine “Sasaprasa” Archer Hammond who was anxious to return to being active, the first time since she discovered a lump 9 months ago. She has been on a journey of treatments but remains exceedingly positive, inspiring people to persevere from her blog sasaprasa.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During our morning hike, she told us it was the most active she\u2019s been while on chemo. We were excited to capture her return to being active but kept it short because of Doctor\u2019s orders. During the hike we discussed her experience against the fight<\/p>\n

So Sasaprasa\u2026 How did knowing you had breast cancer change your outlook and what do you recommend for other women out there going through the same battle?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Knowing is half the battle. When I found out I went through the emotion, then I went through the information. I researched as much as I could about my condition, cure, and things I could do to make them both the least painful as possible. Diet, exercise, and a positive attitude are your best defense<\/p>\n

What helps you maintain your well-being and remain positive during the fight?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I focus on living. I try to find the joy in every good moment and respect the hard moments for the lessons they are. I try to keep a smile on my face and try to keep moving forward. Support of family and friends helps a lot too. I feel very loved and it has great healing power.<\/p>\n

How many treatments remain and how do you plan to celebrate after your last treatment?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I had a double mastectomy in Feb. I have 12 treatments in all and I have 5 left. I will be done by next Feb. I plan to have a big party to celebrate all the amazing people that have been here for me. I want dancing, karaoke, and everyone to have a great time. I would also love to go on a trip to Italy and visit Florence, Venice, and Tuscany (that would be a dream come true). I also try to celebrate every day in some way because I am here and early detection saved my life so I have a lot to be happy for.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cYou are truly blessed!\u201d \u2026 and\u2026 \u201cI am going to make the rest of my life the best of my life.\u201d (Sorry I love both!)<\/p>\n

When was the first time you visited Runyon Canyon and what\u2019s your favorite thing about the park?
\n<\/strong>
\nI visited Runyon Canyon for the first time 2-1\/2 years ago. I love the canyons and I love coming here to think and regroup. It is one of the most precious places in California, stunning views of Los Angeles combined with a hard workout. The hike can be quite challenging and I am just so grateful I got to walk it today!<\/p>\n
