SupraPlush™ Collection

The SupraPlush™ Collection, released on December 19, 2022, debuted with our SupraPlush™ Performance Boxer Brief and features premium Made in USA nylon/spandex or performance textiles that are milled, cut, and handcrafted in Los Angeles, California. Engineered for compression, muscle support, moisture management, four-way stretch, and all-day comfort, these premium performance fabrics are designed to enhance running, training, gym workouts, and endurance sports. Every garment in the SupraPlush™ Collection is designed, engineered, and field-tested by endurance athletes using domestically sourced textiles and components, delivering exceptional quality, durability, and performance while supporting American manufacturing.

Designer Commentary

I started developing this original short concept in early 2025, beginning with a 7-inch inseam. After plenty of testing, I decided it was too long and began refining the specifications, including the width and placement of the nylon/spandex compression liner side pockets to create a more secure fit for phones, keys, and other essentials.

The second version featured a 6-inch inseam, which I thought would be a great middle ground. I ran the San Francisco Marathon in July 2025 wearing the 6-inch version, with my phone securely stored in one compression liner pocket and energy gels in the other. The shorts performed exceptionally well. After the marathon, I decided a 5-inch inseam would offer the best balance of performance and freedom of movement, so I made the change along with a few final refinements to the compression liner to dial in every detail. The result is a 5-inch running short that I'm incredibly pleased with.

For the outer shell, we've used the same side pocket profile found on the Pump-You-Up 7" Sweatshort and Scoutster 5" Adventure Short. These pockets are perfect for carrying your wallet or phone when wearing the shorts casually around town. The outer shell is constructed from a lightweight double-knit polyester—the same premium textile we use in our performance shirts and tank tops. It's incredibly light, breathable, and comfortable. While it isn't as abrasion-resistant as a traditional woven running fabric, it offers outstanding comfort and should simply be treated with a little extra care.

Personally, I often run with a half-full or empty water bottle in one outer pocket and a shirt or tank top in the other, while keeping my phone and keys securely stored in the dual compression liner pockets. I've even comfortably carried a water bottle in one of the compression liner pockets during runs. While runnig with a water bottle isn't its intended purpose, it demonstrates the versatility and spaciousness of the side pockets.

Think of this short as a 2-in-1 running short that combines the support and functionality of compression tights with the comfort, coverage, and everyday versatility of a lightweight outer shell. It performs equally well on long runs, marathon training, and strength sessions at the gym, while looking great for errands and everyday wear.

After nearly a year and a half of design, prototyping, testing, and production, I'm excited to finally introduce the Runyon SupraPlush™ 5" Running Short with 2-In-1 Compression Liner. I truly believe this may be the most comfortable and functional running short we've ever made, and we did it all with Made In USA textiles, components and labor!
