Featuring a 5-inch inseam, built-in quick-dry brief liner, 4-way stretch performance shell, and dual reflective zipper pockets, these lightweight women's multi-sport shorts combine secure storage, unrestricted movement, and all-day comfort from the trail and bike to the gym and beyond.
The unisex fit is especially versatile for women who prefer relaxed athletic shorts with more room through the rise and legs than traditionally fitted women's running shorts. The flexible waistband, roomy leg openings, and lightweight stretch shell provide freedom of movement for running, trail running, hiking, gravel cycling, gym workouts, and everyday outdoor activities.
Dual Outside Zipper Pockets
Two spacious 6" side zipper pockets provide secure storage for your phone, keys, energy gels, and other essentials while running, hiking, or cycling. The pockets are even large enough to carry cycling cage-sized water bottles when extra hydration is needed on longer adventures. Reflective zipper detailing adds visibility in low-light conditions while giving the TrailStash™ its distinctive performance-meets-utility design.
4-Way Stretch Quick-Dry Performance Shell
Constructed from a lightweight yet durable poly/spandex performance fabric, the outer shell provides 4-way stretch, moisture-wicking performance, and quick-dry comfort. Roomy leg openings and a relaxed unisex athletic fit provide freedom of movement, making these versatile women's running, hiking, and cycling shorts ideal for trail running, gravel riding, gym workouts, travel, and other outdoor activities.
Built-In Quick-Dry Brief Liner
A smooth and comfortable built-in performance brief liner provides lightweight support while helping wick away moisture during long runs, workouts, and warm-weather adventures. The integrated liner makes the TrailStash™ an easy all-in-one women's lined running and hiking short without the need for a separate base layer.
US-Made Military Grade Survival Drawstring
The TrailStash™ features our signature U.S.-made military-grade paracord drawstring, manufactured by a United States government contractor and sourced through a veteran-owned business. Each drawstring is individually hand-finished, adding a distinctive American-made detail to every pair.
Please note: The zipper direction shown on the model is reversed on the final production short. The final version zips backward to close and forward to open.
Designer Commentary
“I originally designed the TrailStash™ in 2015 with ultra running and hiking in mind. The idea was to create a lightweight performance short with functional side storage without the bulk of a traditional cargo short. At the time, large side pockets were uncommon in performance apparel, making the TrailStash™ ahead of the curve in both function and design.
After several revisions, I realized the outside pockets were just as useful for cycling. The TrailStash™ gives gravel riders, casual cyclists, commuters, and e-bike riders an alternative to wearing a complete cycling kit. You can throw on a pair of performance shorts, securely stash your phone and essentials in the zipper pockets, and ride.
I've tested these shorts on rugged gravel rides and logged plenty of 20+ mile runs in them. The side pockets are even large enough for cycling cage-sized water bottles. On long runs, I've carried a partially filled bottle on one side and my phone on the other, and the balance works surprisingly well.
The side zipper pockets are our performance interpretation of the traditional utility cargo pocket — useful storage without all the extra fabric and bulk. The result is a sleeker, lightweight, and moisture-wicking short designed for people who spend hours outside.
I also like that the TrailStash™ doesn't look like a traditional running short. It has a more casual appearance that transitions easily from a run or ride to everyday wear. It's also one of my go-to gym shorts, with the 4-way stretch fabric and roomy leg openings providing plenty of mobility for squats, lunges, and strength training while keeping my phone secure in the side pocket.
Beyond running, hiking, cycling, and the gym, these shorts are versatile enough for kayaking, fishing, traveling, swimming, and countless other outdoor adventures. That versatility has always been central to the TrailStash™ design.
For Version 2.0, we increased the rise while maintaining roomy leg openings for greater range of motion and additional room through the thighs. The relaxed unisex fit makes the TrailStash™ especially versatile for women who prefer more room and freedom of movement in their performance shorts. The flexible waistband provides a comfortable athletic fit for running, riding, hiking, training, and everyday movement.
