Say hello to Runyon’s newest short, the Scoutster™ 5″ Adventure Short. Designed, engineered and field tested by endurance athletes and manufactured in the USA — this multi-sport short was designed for trail running, hiking, gym sessions, lake swims and just about every adventure in between.
For the Scoutster™, we set out to create a 5″ version of our fan-favorite All Sex 3″ Classic Running Short, known for its sleek design and backside phone zipper pocket. After countless requests for a lined 5″ short with a functional phone pocket, we spent the next couple of years developing the version we actually wanted to wear — one that didn’t exist anywhere else.

Reinventing The Pocket — Because the Traditional Pocket Never Really Worked
What truly sets the Scoutster™ apart is our complete rethinking of pocket design. We were frustrated with the same outdated, non-functional side pockets that let your essentials slip out the moment you sit down — at the gym, in the car, wherever. So, we built the pocket system we always wanted: smarter, more secure, and made for real life. We believe traditional side pockets are no longer functional and are relics of the past — the Scoutster™ redefines what pockets on modern performance and casual shorts should be.
We designed dual exterior side pockets that actually work. They’re deep and angled to keep your belongings secure while seated or moving — and even fit a 16oz water bottle. We like running with one pocket holding a half-filled bottle and the other for a shirt once it’s time to go shirtless or a windbreaker when that chilly morning finally warms up. It’s a pocket system built for how we actually move.
